One of the most confounding problems for employers is what to do when an employee comes forward with a drug problem or when an employee appears to be intoxicated while at work. This teleconference is designed to educate legal and HR professionals in addressing those situations within the boundaries of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which generally protects recovering drug addicts and alcoholics. The ADA was recently amended to allow more people to be protected and this teleconference will explain how the amendments affect those with addictions. There are also important exceptions to the ADA's protections and this program will help you know when the ADA is in play and when it is not. Not only will this teleconference cover the law, but it will also provide strategies for working within the law, both in the context of recommended policies and through case studies.
